We’re pleased to announce that the Maricopa Community College Libraries are migrating to a new library system, Alma/Primo VE, which will go live for the Spring 2025 semester. This new platform fully integrates the Library Catalog with One Search, enhancing tools and improving access while maintaining the name One Search.
Alma/Primo is the library system used by ASU, UofA, and NAU as well as many other universities across the country, which will help our students better prepare for the next stage in their educational journey!
While we are working hard to plan for a smooth transition, please expect brief periods of downtime over the winter break during system migration (December 18 through January 5, 2025).
As we transition and move forward with the new system, this page will serve as a resource for updates and information - more to come soon!
1. Check any library-related content or links in your syllabi or course pages. Make a list of:
✅Permalinks from the Library Catalog or One Search. These will need to be updated after migration is complete. (Permalinks in unique library databases will not need updating!)
✅Critical course materials such as articles, eBooks, or other resources. Save these as PDFs or offline copies if possible, and record bibliographic information just in case!
✅Youtube links to affected library instructional videos will need to be updated. Check back here for a list in early January.
2. Plan Ahead: If you anticipate needing specific library resources during the migration period, please reach out to collections librarian Analicia Chavez. For all other questions or concerns, please contact Christine Moore.
Revised Guides and Videos
We are replacing screenshots and updating material we’ve created about these systems to be ready when the new platform goes live. We'll be adding links to relevant tutorials and videos here for easy reference.
If you use our guides, you need not worry about these learning objects: we’re taking care of the revisions!
If you directly link to or embed our YouTube videos in your course content, these may need to be updated. We will have a comprehensive list of affected content available in early January.
Acclimation & Support
We understand that system changes may require some adjustment. We are excited to help you navigate the enhanced functionality, offer demonstrations, and provide one-on-one support.
We are confident that the new One Search system will provide a better library experience for everyone, and we appreciate your patience and support during this transition. Should you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Christine so she can enlist the best troubleshooter for your needs.
