About Research Coach

Have you been assigned a research assignment and have no idea where to begin?  Are you overwhelmed by all the information you’re finding on your topic?

We're here to help!

PC Librarians serve as Research Coaches to provide students with an opportunity for one-on-one (or small group) meetings, during which the librarian's undivided attention is focused on your research needs. Research Coaches will assist you with challenges students often face when doing research, such as:

  • Framing your research question
  • Choosing where to look for resources
  • Using resources in the most effective way possible
  • Knowing how to evaluate different sources
  • Citing your sources correctly

Can’t find a time that works for you?

If our coaches are not available at a time that is convenient for you, please send an email to: with: 1) your research topic, 2) the course, and 3) dates/times that would be good for you. We will get back to you within 24 hours (except on weekends).

Research Coaches help with research only.  For writing assistance, please see a writing tutor in the Learning Commons or submit your paper to an online tutor (Brainfuse).

For immediate assistance with a research question, use our 24/7 chat service to contact a librarian.
