IMPORTANT: This page provides instruction based on the Publication Manual of the APA, 6th edition. The 7th edition (2020) has recently been released. Please use the APA 7th Edition Guide, if your instructor recommends using the updated version.
The library maintains a List of Citation Resources that you can use to help you create your reference page for this assignment. You can also check out the print version of the APA Manual from the library.
When including paraphrased information in your assignments, it is necessary to give credit to the authors of the article/book/website from which you found the information. To do this, simply identify the author and year of publication in parentheses at the end of the paraphrased segment.
This is a sample paragraph written by the author Kelly Lambert and then paraphrased in order to show how to set up an in-text citation (Lambert 2011).
When including a graphic in your assignment, be sure to cite it in your reference list as well as within your assignment. For in-text citation of an image, you should include the source of the image/photograph/illustration along with a description written in your own words.
