A Works Cited list is a type of bibliographic list - a compilation of sources referenced in a paper succinctly indicating the publication information for those sources. Annotated bibliographies provide more than just publication information; they indicate, through summary and critical reflection, the careful examination of sources relevant to a topic. Documenting this close look at your sources better positions to you to create a strong thesis statement.
For this assignment you need to complete 10 Annotated Bibliographic Entries of sources useful to your research topic and research question. At least one (1) of your sources should be from the library databases.
Use the 3-part model found at the OWL link above. The model includes a complete citation in MLA format for each entry followed by a Summary, an Assessment, and a Reflection.
Dr. D expects you to write at least a paragraph for each section, so expect to write about a page or a page and a half for each source. The summary section should be a paraphrase of the main ideas of the source--that is, a summary using YOUR OWN WORDS, not quotes. The assessment should be your evaluation or analysis of the source. The reflection should be your reflection regarding the value of the source to your research.
Remember that everything should be double spaced. Organize the entries as you do a Works Cited list (in alphabetical order by the last name of the author [or editor] or, for works with no known author, by the title).
