You will find that each field has its own methodology for studying the topics with which it is concerned. These unique areas require you to use different learning and reading strategies.

The Visual & Performing Arts FOI includes programs in Theater, Music, Dance, Fashion, Art, and Graphic Design. Many of these fields rely on creativity and personal exploration of topics, but information plays a central role in establishing methods and practices, sharing innovative trends, and creating a dialogue among creators in the field. Information may be shared in a variety of source types, but is usually published in trade publications, magazines, or academic journals specializing in certain fields or topics. Primary source material and original works are often consulted in research.
